Sara Hurley (born 1981, Tehran, Iran) is a British-Iranian artist currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The artist holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tehran University and a Master’s in ‘Art and Space’ from Kingston University, London.

Since 2016, Hurley has harboured a deep interest in drawing spectators in public art settings. Her concern lies in the importance of how art is perceived by the viewer and the voyeur.

Sara’s move to British Columbia sparked her interest in nature, resulting in a certain amalgamation of the ever-present persona of art spectator in her work, with the subject of nature, by taking depictions of spectators and placing them within the natural world in an attempt to spark discourse about the climate crisis.

She utilizes different media, from digital, to ink, watercolor, acrylic and oil painting and printmaking as well as sound installations and textile.
